I am by no means a professional when it comes to collages, (I started several years back, clueless, with some Elmer's glue and some chalk and magazines!). However, I still absolutely love to create them and have a special place in my artistic soul for this particular medium(s)... Perhaps it's the ADHD in me, but they tend to be very stimulating, regardless of the artist's style. I love that about collage, and my theory is that it has something to do with the depth, dimension, and texture that comes with "old-fashioned," (i.e., not photoshopped!), collage...
Sorry to ramble, but I do love your work, and I'm particularly fond of this, "Life As a Rose."
This will probably sound silly to you, and I'm almost embarrassed to ask, but regarding your finished product..., how DO you manage to keep them glued properly, AND, once glued, how do you manage to keep them from becoming bubbly and sticky???
I don't want to sound like I'm trying to steal your technique secrets or anything! However, I figure, this is something that is probably common knowledge, and I could have saved myself YEARS of grief, had I figured this one out sooner!! :) Lovely work, definitely a follow.
Thanks for sharing with the rest of us!
Cheers!
Dee Ashley :)
