"Conversations, Curated by Andrea Knarr" opens Monday, August 22, 2016 at 9 a.m. in the Main Gallery and continues until Friday, September 16, 2016. This exhibtion will highlight 31 regional printmakers. The Main Gallery is located on the Third Floor of the Fine Arts Center at Northern Kentucky University. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The night of the artist reception parking is avilable for free in parking lots I and D. COLLAGE WORKSHOP

The Art of Collage: An Exploration of Materials and Techniques

Sign up for either Saturday’s or Sunday’s workshop

Space is limited for each day so sign up early

Teachers will be given professional credit for attending

Randel Plowman will be conducting two, one-day collage workshops for both the beginner and advanced artist and teachers at Northern Kentucky University on June 26th and 27th from 10 am - 4 pm. These workshops will explore the full potential of collage and its limitless possibilities. It will examine various transfer methods, the use of glues and mediums and how to mat and frame your art work . Most supplies will be included in the workshop. Participants are encouraged to bring an assortment of personal images to use in their work. A more detailed list will be provided before the workshop.

Randel Plowman is a mixed-media artist living and working in Northern Kentucky. He has worked in collage since 1982, and his art has been exhibited in solo and juried exhibitions throughout the United States; in addition, his pieces have appeared in many public and private collections in North America and abroad, including the Cincinnati Art Museum. Plowman’s work has been cited in numerous publications, including The New York Times and USA Today; been featured in How Design magazine, Artist Magazine and Somerset Studio and has been used as cover art on numerous books. He is the curator and author of Masters: Collage, published by Sterling Publishing, a book featuring the work of over 40 contemporary collage artist. He also teaches workshops in printmaking and collage, and has a popular collage blog: www.acollageaday.com
